Syed Tariq Pardesi.
Pardesi, who is a popular name in the Pahari music Industry in Kashmir said that music is the only field which can help us to preserve this language. “Most of the time we do musical concerts and sing in marriage functions and that has kept our hopes on that this language is going to survive more,” he said.
Pardesi who hails from Karnah area of Kupwara district said that it should be the priority of every Pahari person to save this language from dying silently. “I believe we all can contribute in our own way. Besides musical functions we can also hold musharias and create awareness programs on Pahari language and the government can be roped into this,” he said.
